The Uighurs versus the Chinese Government

Uighur Dilemma (2009): Ever since the violence between Muslim Uighurs and Han Chinese, a fear of fanaticism has taken hold. Is the government’s decision to demolish the Uighur area Kashgar really due to an earthquake threat?

Kashgar is a cultural icon. Parts of the city have stood for 2000 years and within its labyrinth, Uighur traditions are unchanged. ‘We live as we did in the old times’ says Tursun, a 6 generation pot thrower. But times are changing. Beijing’s deputy mayor has announced that destruction of the old town is the only way to prepare for an earthquake threat. ‘I spent my whole childhood in this place. If they destroy it, we can’t continue our business’ cries one of Kashgar’s many blacksmiths. Many Uighur’s are convinced that the authorities ‘never tell the truth’. Yet some are happy to be rehoused in government buildings, admitting that their homes are dangerous. Kashgar is of great strategic value for China – if small separatist groups here link with Taliban insurgents across the border, there could be a full-scale armed conflict in Western China. ‘If a handful of religious extremists, or international terrorists appear, we will crack down on them immediately’ says Beijing’s deputy mayor. His plan could rebuild a sour relationship. Or give the Uighurs a new reason to throw off Chinese occupation of their homeland.

Amazing work way ahead of it's time 2022

@MediaSock

17:10 In an earthquake I rather take my chances in a clay house that has stood for decades than a hollow plaster and polystyrene building made in China that has already began to crack before the paint is even dry, those Chinese buildings just don't look earthquake proof to me, they just don't have the regulations over there.

This is Propaganda. Only Propaganda. Okay. We (the US), we killed Muslims in Afghanistan.  We killed Muslims in Iraq.  We killed Muslims in Syria, Somalia, Yemen, Lebanon, Sudan, Palestine, Libia, Irán…  But we are very concerned about Human Right of Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang, even though we know that China does  NOT kill the Muslims of Uyghur.  Now…  In 2008, prior to the Beijing Olympics, China was accused of violating the Human Rights of Muslim Uyghurs, which involved a worldwide Boycott to cancel their Olympics.  Eight months before the Olympic inauguration, a United Nations (UN) commission was sent to investigate these alleged violations and found no evidence of the alleged arbitrariness against Uyghurs people.  Therefore, the Olympics went smoothly.  For the rest, Xinjiang is one of the 5 Autonomous Provinces that make up China, and Xinjiang it is  NOT a Sovereign country.  The "conflict" in Xinjiang is due to the separatist pretentions of ethnic groups in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan of Islamic court.  And Finally:  China does not enslave its people, nor any sovereign people.  China is a Nation of Peace.  China does  NOT attack anyone.  China does NOT invade nor does it steal territories of other sovereign nations.  China does NOT intervene in any neighboring nor distant country.  To this date, no Muslim country on this planet has PROTESTED against the "Abuses" that China submits to its Uyghur brothers.  None.  No one has protested:  Not Algeria, not Benin, not Burkina Faso; Chad, Comoros, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Egypt, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia, Guyana, Suriname, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Maldives, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, India, Uzbekistan, Yemen, Albania, Bosnia or Herzegovina. None have protested against China.  So don't listen to the Propaganda.
