I don't consider big gain losing a limb

@3-dreticle826

As a 8yr USMC vet here’s my opinion: Don’t join. It’s some bullshit. All branches bullshit. But some are better than others. If you do join then please follow this advice or you will hate life more tha. You already do. Not matter what branch you join. If you don’t plan on doing 20 years active duty. Just do 4 active and get out. You get the same benefits across the board until you hit 20 years for a retirement.

Do not go into a combat MOS unless you want to be a high speed operator. You don’t even need a to be an infantryman to be federal law enforcement just military experience and college. If you do wanna be a combat guy join the army go be a ranger. Or go be a Navy seal. Try to get In The special operations community. They don’t deal with the BS that normal operating forces deal with. They get treat way better. Get the best gear etc… Being a regular infantrymen in the USMC or USArmy you might as well be a slave. Also the Marines have the lowest quality of life of all the Branches. Lowest budget as well. Unless your Recon or MARSOC.

The coast guard is an excellent option if you want to do federal law enforcement work because they actually are part of Homeland security not DoD like the other branches. They actually have jurisdiction over all waters 50 miles from US shores. They do drug raids arrest work side by side with all 3 letter agencies. It’s a direct pipe line.

For anyone else get the highest ASVAB score possible. Join the Space Force or the Airforce. Get an MOS in the Intelligence, linguistics, or Cybersecurity fields. These jobs specifically come with high bonuses. Get you a high level government clearance TS/SCI Poly that cost over $100k. That last over 5-7 years. Get out. Use GI bill. Get your VA disability. Because something bad will happen to you. Every branch has those high level jobs and they all go to the same schools BUT the space force and USAF have the highest quality of life and is least stressful and dangerous. An AF guy ain’t gonna be in a firefight with enemies. USAF is the biggest community college in the nation. They give out more credits and certifications that transfer to the civilian world than the other branches. By comparison NOTHING you do in the Marine Corps will be directly tangible and translate into the civilian life. All those certs they give you are useless. There was a federal hearing where congress Grilled the SgtMaj of the Marine Corps about this. He looked stupid and couldn’t provide any answer. The Marine Corps only cares about 1 thing. That’s fighting wars. Nothing else. They will not build you up to make you a more productive member of society.

If you can’t get those fields because they are super competitive. Get in the aviation maintenance jobs. Go work for an airline. If you don’t want to go active. Do the same thing just in the reserves. Go to college or use your clearance to be a contractor making 100k overseas while In the reserves.

What ever you do. DO NOT GET MARRIED! While serving. Don’t marry another serviceman while you are in. And go to medical for any and everything that hurts you. Get it in your records. If you join the US army or the Marines after reading this because you love America. Wanna fight some dumb war. Or something like that. You have been warned. It’s nothing like the commercials or movies. 90% of the time you will be doing stupid training, getting hazed or cleaning. Or just stand waiting in a line for hrs. Then there’s the possibility that when you do go down range you and or all of your buddies will get deleted.

@jb24001

Rule #1: don't go. Rule #2: Don't believe their lies.

@monetduren8208

Stop lying to ppl the military is NOT all its cracked up to be. How come 50 percent of service men get injured every year.

@SplitWigz

Fck being home sick im not tryna get smoked, still wanna get in tho😂

@andyasdf2078

Is it true that once you get out, you literally get all the girls you could ever want or need?
