ASX rises after Friday tech surge on Wall Street | Finance Report | ABC News

The ASX 200 has ended 0.8% higher to 7,637 points for the first session of the week.

The gains were largely thanks to rallies in the real estate and technology sectors, although 10 out of the 11 sectors ended in positive territory. (Energy was the only sector in the red, ending 0.1% lower.)

Meanwhile Star Entertainment Group ended the day as one of the ASX’s top gainers, after chair David Foster stepped down.
