@lukpeluk

I gaze into the void, and I look past it.
And beneath the black I only see more black; and beneath me it sees the same.
And I die.

Glockenspiel.

For the people who don’t believe this video is real, I can assure you, it’s 100% real! Here are some common confusions about it:
– On the snare drum we can throw the sticks and get 1-7 bounces with gravity and holding the sticks with a fulcrum point called doubles and buzz strokes. In other words, you see one big motion from the arm but the sticks actually bounce and hit more than once. Watch in slow motion to understand better. This piece goes double double tap tap | repeat | multiple bounce (buzz roll) | tap tap
– On the glockenspiel: the original song is actually played on the celesta and it is way harder to play on the glockenspiel. I also am using a very rare glockenspiel which has a sustain pedal. At the end of the song, I lift my foot and that’s why the sound stops.
– On the drumset: I made this video very quickly and didn’t have a lot of time. I forgot to bring a tuning key. You can hear that the head of the tom is loose and should be tightened up. The sound of the loose head couldn’t be faked!!
– The steel pan: I am actually playing it in a different key than the original. Because the original was played on a keyboard synth and the standard “lead steel pan” doesn’t have the low Bb from the original key. I’m playing the piece here in Ab major. I also take one phrase up an octave which sounds nice and works on this steel pan better but isn’t in the original song.
– I know the vertical angle of the Go Pro footage can look confusing as you don’t have the standard horizontal view to see stick heights and it can make it look unreal. You will see reflections on the instruments and also that they are vibrating.
– I assure everyone that there is absolutely nothing fake about this and I’m playing every note. You can check out my other videos to see different angles of the instruments and understand how they work better.
– Wishing you all the best and have a nice day!!!
