Kamala Harris has added a major name to her list of celebrity supporters. George Clooney offered his public endorsement for the Vice President’s White House bid following President Joe Biden’s decision to bow out of the race. The news comes just weeks after Clooney’s bombshell New York Times op-ed in which he asked Biden to step aside over health concerns stemming from his debate performance against Donald Trump in June. In a new statement on July 23, Clooney shared his enthusiasm for Harris’ campaign and applauded Biden’s decision. “President Biden has shown what true leadership is. He’s saving democracy once again. We’re all so excited to do whatever we can to support Vice President Harris in her historic quest,” Clooney’s statement read. Biden backed Harris as his replacement Democratic nominee shortly after confirming he was suspending his re-election campaign. The Vice President has reportedly raised more than $100 million and secured enough delegates to formally win the nomination ahead of the Democratic National Convention in August.
