All those millions of Chinese mums who will lose their only son won’t like that.

I wouldn't count on them being too afraid to invade Taiwan. Xi has really tied his reputation to conquering Taiwan and will look weak within the CCP if he never follows through with it.

So far from US not dependent on Taiwan for Semiconductor in 2030. With Intel having issues with their fab, it is looking more like US will be even more dependent.

China has been saying this whole entire time they want cooperation with USA not competition, but the ruling elites have to keep the peasant citizens afraid so they can control them and use their tax money. its really not hard to figure out.

China is rich now. Their people are living peacefully and luxuriously. Maybe not all, but getting into a war dont profit them in any way. After decades of struggles and buliding up their economy to become the 2nd biggest in the world, why would they want to ruin it with a war?

If China invades Taiwan and damages their semi-conducter infrastructure it has no technical knowlege on how to fix it or even how to operate it even if they successfully captured Taiwan without damaging its semi-coducter infrastructure.
