Or… hear me out, we go after the scammers instead. It makes no sense to make banks liable for theft. Should the bank also reimburse you if someone breaks into your house and steals your TV?

So I work for one of these institutions. We have scam prevention methods. The amount of times ive been yelled at for these existing is ridiculous

These scammers prey alooot on old people who are eather too nice , too demented or too naive to reconize the scam . Also doesnt help that the average grandparent isnt tech savvy at all and thus have to trust authorities on this matter . Its fcking disgusting

To be honest, if you transfer your savings to some Nigerian Prince then it's your fault, why should a bank pay you back for stupidity? If I lost my wallet with £1000 in it should the wallet company pay me back?
