I'm a spurs fan here in SA, and I love Wemby's game and attitude…but these flops are going to backfire. I hope he gets them out of his system.

Also, not a JE fan at all, can't stand the spinning elbows he throws among other things. But i can feel his frustration since Wemby flopped AND the refs are calling fewer fouls this year, let alone almost no charges or even offensive fouls. As a huge Manu (and D White!) fan this change has been tough to swallow, but overall i like the fewer fouls called. I assume they saw how popular the Olympics refereeing was and responded to that.

NBA did some SERIOUS CYA on this one. Not shown was a ref calling 2 techs on Drummond. The second was so BLATANTLY not true, they had to IMMEDIATELY rescind the tech. They then made it a tech on Wemby for flopping. Replays showed he simply tripped over his own feet. The same ref, obviously with a grudge, then called Embid for a foul and then a quick tech. This infuriated Embiid and he got a 2nd quick tech and he lost his mind. If you want the REAL reason viewership is down, it's NOT like LeBron says (too many 3s), it's the damn pathetic refereeing. That ref that tried to throw out Drummond and DID throw out Embiid needs to take some remedial courses in learning the game and how to DEescalate a situation. Also, the NBA should look into her possibly making bets on this game, cuz she def wanted to give boost to the over/under on the rebounding numbers for the 6ers.

In Embiid's defense, that was NOT a chest foul of any kind on Wembanyana.
If anything, it was a major FLOP JOB by Wemby in the heat of the moment, and you can actually see Embiid make every effort to sidestep the situation to avoid contact!
It was obvious!
But, just like with many players, Embiid let his emotions and his mouth get the best of him.
And he may have even displayed an extra amount of disdain because it was a female ref!
Not sure.
But the course of action he took, even before the ejection, was just plain dumb.

the thing that ppl dont realize is when embiid is taking contact and barreling into the lane… if you don't fall back to that, he's going into your legs. if you just stand and take it, he's clipping you. wemby HAD to fall back unless you think its a good idea to take 7'1 260lbs+ going into his ankles

@davethelegend24

Embid is a dirty player he gets everyone injured

@diehardWNBA.fan.since.May.2024

Had Embiid played 30 minutes last night, he probably wouldn't have been available for the Celtics game tomorrow. Hope he plays and the game is at least competitive.
