Based on the title and her name I assumed she owned Nestle, one of the largest food production companies worldwide. She is amazing 🙌🏼

@Caladcholg

11:00 did she seriously just say that?

"There was an attempt to get them to eat less meat… but you can't do that, so they substituted saturated fat, which is a euphemism for meat, and we are supposed to know what that meant."

THAT'S where all this 'saturated fat is the devil and PUFAs are healthy' NONSENSE originated? An deceptive anti-meat campaign?

She goes on to say (22:10) that 'animal foods, ruminant animals, are so much more responsible for greenhouse gas emissions', which we now know is demonstrably false ("Livestock's Long Shadow" was a woefully innacurate document, and the Grazed and Confused anti-regenertive agriculture document was a Monsanto puff piece. Read the works of Frank Mitloehner et al).

I know she is viewed as a demigod in the nutrition space, but I don't think she realized how much the public has become aware of the shenanigans being played with the food guidelines, and she just spelled out how unscientific and dishonest they were/are and why people are so, SO confused about their bodies/health.

No wonder all these keto/carnivore diets are anecdotally leading to so much healing: the evidence against them was false to begin with! You can only mislead people for so long because the jig is up when reality comes a-knockin.

Historically, no matter how noble you belive your cause, no matter how much money and influence your accrue, no matter the whiteness of your 'white hat bias', since the time of Plato's 'Myth of the Metals', trying to manipulate public behavior by lying to them never, ever works. It works for a period of time (we are in that time now), but reality is undefeated, and people are sick.

Edit: 1:25:53 the fact that this video ends with both the guest and the host yucking it up over a shared ice cream obsession, on a supposed human health podcast, just shows how much we've lost the collective plot.

@Caladcholg

50:30 ffs guys, animal products are LIFE SAVING, not the equivalent of cigarettes. That is seriously dangerous information and a massive part of the problem.

@devinyzaguirre9438

Pringles… "once you pop you don't stop"

@katiewilloughby1528

I want to see her research that informs her claims about animal agriculture. More than just Michael Pollan quotes.

@JessicaHill-g4m

Grains are ultra processed….. meat is definitely better for you than so many grains!

@NoraMalia

This is super interesting. I would love to have an episode on lipedema

@brentsmith5318

I like her. People are different ,If I were to follow the food pyramid I would be severely diabetic. At this point I am following a keto diet and controlling my diabetes. I think that trying to follow the food pyramid probably gave me my diabetes.
