The Timberwolves Are a Disaster… What Now?

The Timberwolves were finally looking like contenders… until the Julius Randle trade ruined everything. In this video, we break down how Minnesota went from thriving to disaster, why Randle’s fit with the team has been a disaster, and how this move derailed Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards. Can they recover, or did this trade destroy their season? Let’s talk about the mess in Minnesota.

Yeah, that trade made no sense. I think they just didn't want to pay for kat contract in hopes of landing a big star later

Made some great points but I had to comment when I heard KAT as the best shooting big of all time. That is sooo disrespectful to Dirk. His jumpshot took down like 10 hall of famers in one finals run? C'mon bro.

3:14 “KAT is the best shooting big of all time” I think Dirk takes the cake for best shooting big IMO

The Wolves are the Bengals of the NBA they’ll never spend money

People who blame Randle for this are off-base. Randle is an excellent offensive player. Yes, he takes plays off on defense. Yes he's not a complete player. But he's a complete force on the offensive end, a zero on D — he can handle, spot the open shooter, get to the basket, get to the line, hit 3s, and 'go get you a bucket' when the shot-clock is down.

The fix to the Wolves is actually easy in my opinion. You sub Randle out early, or Gobert early, and play Randle at the 5. We already covered what Randle's problem is: defense. But he's a completely serviceable defensive 5. He won't get fancy blocks, but he's quick enough to stay in front of any C in the league. I'm a Knick fan, and he also had problems sharing the court with players like RJ + Brunson (both divers) + Mitch (young Gobert). But throw him in with role players like Alexander Walker + McDaniels while Ant's taking a breather, Wolves bench + role players will light up teams in the league. Guaranteed. The Knicks figured this out and he functioned much better with I-Hart than with Mitch because I-Hart is a pass first, screen setting big. Gobert isn't that pivot man, so this team will look stagnant with Randle and Ant on the court.
