Russia has never been built to take ground. They spent/wasted money on defense worried the U.S. would invade. They worked up all this fear to keep a broken system, communism, in place for as long as they could. The war in Afghanistan proved how badly communism was on an economy. Not sure why Putin didn’t understand this. He must be furious with his military advisors for lying to him about the state of the military. I bet heads have rolled.

If the United States and allies can’t achieve a far less ambitious goal in Afghanistan, burning up after 20 years and trillions of dollars, I don’t buy that a country with half the people and a far smaller economy could possibly do better.

Putin is sending his short busses into Ukraine! Thats all Stalin and the Soviets left him.

Do the British pronounce "Kyiv" as "Keev"? Apparently two pronunciations are okay: "Keev" and "Kee-ev". How do Ukrainians themselves pronounce the name?
