Numerous Black male celebrities have declared their endorsement of former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president. With just a few weeks till election day, the Harris campaign is having trouble winning over Black men, a demographic that has historically been among the Democratic Party’s most dependable backers. Trump is also gaining ground with this group.
A New York Times/Siena College survey conducted last week indicates that Harris is now leading the Black vote with 78% of the vote, a decrease from President Biden’s over 90% share of the bloc in 2020. Additionally, it is lower than in 2016, when Hillary Clinton received almost 92% of the Black vote. According to the report, Black men’s support for Harris has declined even further: from 85% in 2020 to 70% in November, Black men now say they will vote for Harris.
