In this episode of Gaming For A Non-Gamer, I tossed my wife into the wide world of online multiplayer. It went about as well as you guessed it would. This is what online multiplayer is like for someone who doesn’t play games.

The fact that league make her say “my team is so bad” is just halarious hhahaah

Instead of LOL, you should have tried HotS … blizzard's moba is by far more friendly, and teamplay and team progress is more evident

Yes , bots for newbies instead of strict sbmm for all . Random lobbies should always be MP games outside ranked mode. And let’s face it bro, 90% of new players are quite a bit more advanced off rip than her. The real players who support the games , who buy micro t’s , buy new releases are skilled gamers. Skilled gamers should never be punished bc an 8 year old might have their first game tmmrw. Brand new players should have good tutorials to play and bot modes until they want to hop into real online matches. It’s simple as that. The people actually supporting your business shouldn’t be punished by strict sbmm

The problem is not only the lack of playerbase with a new account she has the same mmr as everyone else new to the game. But most people that start CSGO for example allready played some kind of shooter before. The match making need some time and games to adjust.

@Bighomer5

Back in the day, my first games of cs and tf2 were on heavily modded community servers due to the abysmal server browser. This was way before matchmaking. I have a friend who only played jail break in cs, I don't think he ever graduated onto the actual game.

Fortnite uses bots in the first matches because winning increases engagement. If she joined a match and simply got destroyed, that's a great way to quit the game. Also, bots reduce the initial toxicity. There's also a certain skill level of players that simply will never rise to the point of engaging with the lowest player base so bots are for them.

Ey. If you'd like to see more from me on a regular basis, check out my twitter @theRazbuten, and also follow me on me on Twitch for streams or whatever: https://www.twitch.tv/razbuten

In general, I just wanna say that I hope you're all staying safe in this scary and weird time. One silver-lining that has come from this is that now my wife (more locally known as the Lady I Live With) is working from home, so we will have a little more time to record stuff for this series, and she will even be able to drop in for some streams every once and awhile. I've got a lot of big ideas for the series and channel as a whole, and I look forward to being able to share them with you all over the next few months. As always feel free to leave your recommendations for games you'd like us to cover in this series. Have a good one, and see you soon.

Edit: I changed the thumbnail because I didn't really like how it looked on YT (the bright colors from that Fortnite picture didn't really mesh well with the color scheme I like to use for Gaming For A Non-Gamer, and while I think it looks fine in Photoshop, when things are shrunk down and compressed on YT, it looks less fine). I know most of you don't care, probably, but just in case you were like "what the fuck? why did the thumbnail change?" this is why. I am weird. Sorry.
