Tensions over the South China Sea will be in focus at next week’s summit of south east Asian nations in Laos. Germany is increasing its military presence in the Indo-Pacific region. It has joined naval exercises with Japan, the US, and other allies. One of the aims is to keep trade routes open. Our reporter Georg Matthes has been onboard the German frigate Baden-Württemberg.

97% is Chinese shipping, now what rocket scientist came up with the story about safe shipping ? who wants to control the maritime traffic. ?the west trying to choke off the trade in the south China sea. the U.S. and Philippines are not even signatory's to the convention of the sea. Germany literally on the other side of the world interfering

Every country who join UN and sign agreement free trade they have to respect international waters rules .China don’t so the only way kick them out from UN and block Chinese to enter in the international waters
