Re S-70 incident, I don't say that this is exactly what happened, but I think it can be explained by an overly trigger-happy SU-57 pilot – he saw an enemy air target (Ukrainian aircraft, missile, or drone), locked it, and fired without weighting to separate from the S-70. The AA missile from the SU-57 came from the aircraft in the active (a.k.a. pitbull) mode and self-guided towards the nearest target in the line of sight.

I've heard a speculation that the shooting down was intentional, allegedly they have lost the communication with the drone and shot it down to avoid it falling into Ukrainian (NATO) hands, but it rings hollow for three reasons:
1. the wreckage of the drone fell on the Ukrainian territory anyway – the Americans or whomever else will be able to reverse-engineer whatever they want from it,
2. the drone was not maneuvering, if the command came to shoot it down, there was no reason to waste a missile worth several hundred thousand dollars when a few cannon rounds would achieve the same result,
3. the pilot made a very aggressive maneuver after the explosion (being startled by the explosion, or just to avoid flying through the debris and shrapnel) – if he really intended to shoot the drone down, he would position so that he does not create an immediate danger for his aircraft.

Politicians changing opinion more frequently than they are changing their underpants – what's so strange about that?
