The tribunal was regarding the ownership of the South China Sea.
They signed (1982) the Law of the Sea in the UN, and they ratified it in 1996. Now they ignore it and claim almost the entire SCS as their property, including the EEZ of the Philippines.
Is it any surprise that the CCP says one thing and does another? Just look at Hong Kong.
The only thing you can count on with the CCP is you can't trust them.
