Modi Signals Respect for Ukraine Sovereignty in Zelenskiy Talks

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi signaled his backing for Ukrainian sovereignty within its internationally recognized borders even as he stood by his call for a diplomatic resolution to Russia’s war with the nation. #politics #worldnews #india #indian #ukraine #ukrainian #kyiv #russia #politics #zelensky

The comments, made during the Indian leader’s first visit to Kyiv since the war began, were among his most direct statements on the fallout of Russia’s full-scale invasion 2 1/2 years ago. Even as Ukraine has sought India’s support in driving back Russian aggression, Modi has refrained from criticizing the Kremlin’s attack.

“I want to assure you and the world of India’s respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Modi told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy during their meeting, which lasted well longer than scheduled. “Solutions can be found through dialog and diplomacy — and we must move in that direction with both sides with no time to waste,” he said.

Putin is the issue. What he has "proposed" is for Ukraine to remain neutral without NATO membership meaning Putin can once more cross the border and start a war as he did two years ago. Putin also wants Ukraine to relinquish land to Russia. India – tell Putin to withdraw, period, with no other demands other than giving back the thousands of Ukrainian children Russia stole from their parents and their country. Ukraine can become a NATO member, rebuild their country and go back to the democratic and peaceful country they were before Putin invaded without cause or any other provocation..

@aacvieira

If we Understand what Modi is saying, we understand modo is speaking against Ukraine.

@Truth-g7h

"Peace to prevail "

@simian_essence

A thumbs down was given because talk (like Modi's general equivalency talk of "peace" here) is SSssooooo….cheap and completely meaningless, completely vacuous — when one side — and one side only — is the evil agressor.
If Modi is interested in a real peace, rather than slavery for Ukrainians, he'll give a huge amount of weaponry to Ukraine.

Greatings to India, one of my favourite countries!
Putin, can finish the war in five minutes. Ordering his troops right back to Russia. If you want imperialisme from autoritherian Regimes, (maybe China has some territorial ideas also from its neighbouts) then give Putin some provinces from Ukraine, as a reward for his agression and call it a peace treaty. This kind of "peace" would not last long, as we know from the last "peace" treaties with Putins Russia.
